Southern Fried Flicks Update

December 18, 2006
Happy Holidays!

Thank you for your recent submission to the Southern Fried Flicks Film Festival in Augusta, Georgia. We are thrilled to inform you that your film will be screened and judged during our festival! Southern Fried Flicks began in 2004 as a vehicle to inspire and encourage Southern film makers. The response has been overwhelming — we have received more submissions than last year yet again, which makes your place in the festival all the more special.

Originally, we anticipated informing film makers of acceptance by December 15, 2006. We apologize for the late nature of this letter.

The judging system takes part in two phases. Last week, our judging panel will briefly reviewed all films for a "first elimination round." This week, the judges will review the remaining films, including yours, in detail and score films according to cinematography, script, sound, overall quality and Southern connection (location, director, cast, etc). Our goal is to have all films fully reviewed by Saturday, December 30th.

Also, please click the link below to join our online festival community.

All filmmakers will receive notification of their screening time in the first week in January, but pack your bags, you will be in the festival! We appreciate your patience and understanding as we proceed. We hope to see you in January! Again, thank you for your submission and best of luck!

Sincerely,

Lara Plocha and Sarah Childers
